TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY
The aim of Allow Wellness is to treat you the same way we would want to be treated:
Competently
Holistically
Collaboratively
Competently: We believe everyone can get better but we also know it is essential to find a provider who is skilled in what you need or is aware of when to refer to other providers. Sometimes it feels hopeless, but we won’t give up on you even during those hopeless times. We are here to help you get the help you need. We strive to have various specialists in the practice to accommodate unique client needs, and when we do not, we work to provide the best referral possible and will continue to treat you and collaborate with the outside referral when applicable. Sometimes that means sensitively giving you feedback that is hard to hear - because we are more concerned about your wellbeing than you liking us. We are committed to the ethics of our work and our passion that every human deserves to feel better and that help is out there.
Holistically: We believe that you cannot separate your mental health from your physical self and from your relational self (and your spiritual self if that pertains to you). If one part of you is hurting then you as a whole person will also be impacted. Parts of ourselves cannot be treated in isolation. This means that we attend to your physical wellbeing and relational/spiritual wellbeing in addition to your mental difficulties. We know the importance of having yearly blood work when one is healing. Sometimes ones emotional symptoms are a result or at least contributed to, by some underlying, undetected physical problem. However, we are also sensitive to your difficulties with talking to additional health providers and will work with you toward overcoming these obstacles to your wellness.
Collaboratively: We believe that the best way to make sure one receives competent treatment is to invite open dialogue with you about how your treatment is progressing and to actively collaborate with your other providers. This includes referring you to outside providers when needed. We want to make sure that all of your providers have been informed about your concerns so that we can make sure we are treating you most accurately. Not doing so would be a disservice to your care.
